General Pathology covers a wide range of diseases that affect all systems of the human body. The physician approaches each patient responsibly, assesses their health status comprehensively and determines targeted treatment plans. Diabetes mellitus

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a generalised metabolic disorder. This disorder affects not only carbohydrates (sugars), but also lipids with proteins. Its aetiology is multifactorial and heterogeneous. The common denominator of all conditions that eventually lead to the onset of Diabetes Mellitus is a complete or relative lack of insulin.

Infectious diseases

Cases of infections of various diagnoses are examined in the clinic. The infections are manifested by symptoms such as: Fever, Cough, Sore throat, Runny nose, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Urinary retching. Rapid Flu and Coronavirus testing is available. Indicatively, some infectious diseases that are treated: Upper & Lower Respiratory Infections, Urinary Infections, Gastrointestinal & Viral Infections.

Adult vaccinations

In addition, personalised adult counselling on vaccinations is provided. The National Vaccination Programme is the basis of the counselling. Depending on the patient's history and needs, there is individualization. Vaccination counselling is also provided in cases involving travel abroad.

Metabolic diseases

A group of rare diseases caused by genetic mutations that cause the absence or dysregulation of enzymes or proteins involved in cellular metabolism. The lack of these enzymes can cause abnormalities in the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates or lipids and results in the accumulation of toxic molecules for the body. Such diseases occur in less than 1/2000 people and most of them are diagnosed in infancy and childhood, but some can occur in adolescence or adulthood.

Arterial Hypertension

Hypertension is a predominant risk factor for mortality and morbidity. 1 billion people are estimated to be hypertensive worldwide, a number that is expected to increase as a result of sedentary lifestyles. Half of all hypertensive patients are undiagnosed and half of those already diagnosed with hypertension receive inadequate medication.

Dyslipidemia

Cholesterol is a structural component of cell membranes and a raw material for the production of steroids and other hormones by the body. Of the measured cholesterol, 50% comes from the diet and the remaining 50% is produced by the body. Increased intake of saturated fatty acids from animal fats, red meat, fatty cheeses and obesity are common causes of dyslipidemia.

Certificates

All kinds of certificates are issued at the clinic. Before a certificate is issued, a medical history and a clinical examination are taken. Depending on the nature of the certificate, an electrocardiogram (ECG) is carried out and the necessary laboratory tests are prescribed.
